Purgatorio

Pilgrimage through the early baroque

PROGRAM
DETAILS
InAlto, Lambert Colson direction, Alice Foccroulle soprano, Nikolay Borchev bariton, Bernard Foccroulle organ

Cornetto player Lambert Colson and his ensemble InAlto stage an encounter between the two titans of Italian poetry: Dante and Petrarca. The work of these poets fuelled the music of Jacopo Peri, Giulio Caccini and other contemporaries of Monteverdi. Expressive baroque monodies embark on a dialogue with new material by Bernard Foccroulle, inspired by Dante’s Purgatorio.
