Music course for kids

On a musical discovery trip

Who dreams of foreign travel to far away places? To Turkey perhaps to sample the famous, strong Turkish coffee, to take part in a folk festival or to strum out a tune on the Baglama? Or would you prefer a trip to an African country, journeying through breath-taking scenery or being swept away by the rhythmic beat of tribal drums? Or would you like to go further, to China perhaps? Through music, word and movement, you will be transported to various exotic destinations. You will discover unknown paradises, each with its own musical story. At the end of the week, you will make your own musical report of the adventures you've had. Who knows, you may even produce your own modern version of traditional operas and symphonies....or did you think didn't have it in you? Sign up for the course as soon as possible and join us on our travels.....
Tutors: Ken Van Roose and Seppe Van den Berghe
Age range: 6-12 years old
Prior knowledge: No prior knowledge of music required. If you do play a musical instrument, you are welcome to bring this with you.
Date: Monday 9th to Friday 13 August 2010, every day from 9.30am to 4.30pm
Cost: 110 euro, day attendance only, participants to bring their own packed lunch.
