A passion for music, a hands-on mentality, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. That sounds like the perfect match! MA Festival is looking for a freelance production manager to join our team starting in January 2027.

Responsibilities

Preparation:

•       You are responsible for the production preparation of the festival, with the exception of MA Competition and Vélobaroque. In doing so, you monitor timing and budget.

•       You make arrangements with artists regarding scheduling, technical riders, and accommodation.

•       You make arrangements for keyboard instruments, equipment, and venues, and follow up on these.

•       You arrange all necessary permits.

•       You manage an intern who will support you as a production assistant starting in June.

During the festival:

•       You manage the volunteer team.

•       You coordinate the setup and breakdown of concert venues outside the Concertgebouw.

•       You ensure that all equipment ends up in the right place.

•       You ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes: from welcoming artists and giving cues at the start of concerts to managing technicians and solving unexpected problems.

Profile

•       You have experience with production work.

•       You love music and enjoy working with artists.

•       You always maintain an overview, can easily set priorities and communicate them clearly to everyone involved.

•       You think and act proactively in stressful situations. While others are just realizing what the problem is, you are already working on the solution.

•       You know how to motivate a volunteer team.

•       You are a self-starter and enjoy rolling up your sleeves.

•       You have an excellent command of Dutch and English. You can get by in French.

•       A category B driver's license is preferred.
