Phaedrus
Ockeghem, Binchois & Josquin des Prez
Holy Ghost brings the divine spirit to life in polyphonic sounds born purely of breath. Inspired by the fiery tongues of Pentecost and the Greek concept of pneuma – the breath of life that animates everything – Phaedrus give voice to an invisible world. A transverse flute trio and the singing of Jonatan Alvarado create a musical landscape that floats between the visible and the hidden spheres. Burgundian masterpieces from the 15th and 16th centuries are revived in lush improvisations and sparkling diminutions. Holy Ghost is a breathing ode to inspiration, rapture and the power that elevates sound to spirit.
