Rompeltier
Acrobatic music theater for children
Welcome to the world of Renaissance music! This performance consists of two parts:
Rompeltier: an intimate performance where polyphony and circus go hand in hand. Rompeltier is an ode to multi-voiced sounds that simultaneously resonate, clash, and converge. A place where Renaissance and circus meet. Where voices speak without words and bodies sing without a voice. Musicians Thomas Decaesstecker and Raphaël De Cock blend the layered complexity of Jacob Obrecht's compositions with refreshing acrobatics.
MegaTron: an interactive sound installation built from organ pipes and bellows. Sound artist Toon Quanten created this machine which, if you look closely, resembles a medieval cathedral. Help the musicians of Delle Donne accompany MegaTron and playfully discover the polyphonic sounds of Renaissance music.
With music by:
Jacob Obrecht (1457 – 1505)
